Gunasekhar directed as well as produced his dream project Rudramadevi made on Rs 45 crores budget. The release woes of the movie are finally coming to end with Abhishek Pictures & Reliance Entertainments making an agreement to acquire Rudramadevi's Hindi worldwide rights. The amount they invested to get the rights is whopping Rs 22 crores which is almost half the film's budget, as per a reliable source. So, a smooth release is expected on September 17th or 25th.
Before roping in Allu Arjun for the role of Gona Ganna Reddy, the main protagonist Anushka was the only crowd puller for the historical film. Rana Daggubati who will be seen in another lead role as Chalukya Veerabhadra was in bad phase before signing the project. Fortunately, Rana co-starrer recent outing Baahubali turned out as an industry hit. Things worked in favor of Gunasekhar until the film's teaser was released few months ago. Expectations were minimized with the low-quality of VFX work in the teaser and no distributor dared to associate with the film.
Highly self-reliant Gunasekhar then worked on graphics along with VFX team. This caused numerous postponements. The film's output is going to be visual feast for movie lovers, informs the source. Gunasekhar is a relaxed man now with freshly generated positive buzz.
