Top Heroine’s Bold Talk keeps Tempers High

Kangana-Ranaut
Kangana Ranaut is unlike any other film celeb. Don’t expect a single diplomatic answer from her on any day and hence her interviews have always became a sensation. During the promotions of her new release ‘Katti Batti’, This bold beauty made several spicy statements which might not have gone down well with a lot of Bollywood celebs.
1) People will have to be a zombie or numb or dead to NOT be affected by my progress.
2) I started from B Grade films and Today I’m the No.1 Actress in the Country. Whereas, other actresses have had no growth in whatever platform they were launched”.
3) Name one actress who could’ve played Datto in Tanu Weds Manu Returns) or Rani in Queen”.
4) My Colleagues had conspired against Me and tried to pull me down.
5) I think the kind of roles or films I do it literally takes a year… so, I think it is justified (Highest Paid Actress – Charging Rs 11 crore Remuneration per Film).

Reacting on these bold statements, Actress Divya Dutta said: “Did she really say that. Only one gets the oppurtunity to get the right thing at the right time. Be grateful coz there’s a lot of talent around”. In response, Kangana shot back: “I respect Divya Dutta’s judgement. I’m not a politician who is here to make a statement or hurt people. I’m just saying what I feel and I respect people who beg to differ”.

Aamir's Hindi plans for 'Katti Batti

Aamir's Hindi plans for 'Katti Batti'

English dialogues in an upcoming Kangana Ranaut and Imran Khan-starrer 'Katti Batti' were toned down at Aamir Khan's behest

Over a month ago, hitlist had reported about director Nikhil Advani showing the rushes of his upcoming film 'Katti Batti' to Aamir Khan for advice. We have now learnt the star had suggested that the director rewrite some of the English dialogues in Hindi - a lesson that he learnt from personal experience.

Says Nikhil, "Aamir said a considerable chunk of the audience did not know that he had made a film called '3 Idiots' (2009). The Hindi-speaking people thought the film's name was 'Aal is well' (because of the catchy song in the film). They did not connect with the '3 Idiots' title since it was in English. So, Aamir felt it was better to stick to Hindi so as to be able to widen our audience reach."

Interestingly, Imran Khan, who is Aamir's nephew and plays the lead role in the film opposite Kangana Ranaut, had offered the same suggestion to Nikhil while shooting. "I used to request Nikhil on a daily basis to rewrite English lines in Hindi. He would then ask me to do it. If you want to reach out to a bigger audience, then it is important to have Hindi lines," says Imran.

However, even as Imran rewrote a few lines, his maamujaan still thought English had been overused in dialogue writing, the young actor says, adding that he later dubbed for the re-written dialogues in Hindi, while Kangana's lines remained unchanged.

Kangana Ranaut: Don't know anything about live-in relationships

While many were expecting another romantic comedy from Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut after the hugely successful Tanu Weds Manu Returns, she says her forthcoming film Katti Batti is an "intense" film, which does not focus on "live-in relationships at all".

"Katti Batti is not based on live-in relationships at all. People are assuming many things about this film. Live in is one of the stages that the lead pair are going through and probably it is a part of the film for three minutes that too is through a song. So, Katti Batti is not about live-in and I myself don't know anything about live-in so it's better I shouldn't say anything on it," Kangana, who was here on Thursday to promote the film, told IANS.

The actress also said that she played the most intense character of her career in the Nikhil Advani directorial. "This has been the most intense character I have ever played. The promos and songs of 'Katti Batti' don't give the idea about the intensity that the film carries. I suggested to the makers if we can take out promos that can tell the kind of depth and intensity that 'Katti Batti' holds, but they didn't take any of my advice and everything looks happy go lucky. But 'Katti Batti' is a very intense film," she said. The actress also said that her character in the film is a revelation.

"Payal, my character in the film is going to be a revelation for me. This character has changed me forever. I'll never get to play such type of an intense character in my whole life," she added. The film, which marks the return of actor Imran Khan after a hiatus of almost two years, is based on new age relationships. The story of the film starts like a romantic comedy but turns into a thriller with a mystery element and a mature love story.

"'Katti Batti' is going to be very cathartic for people who like larger than life love stories like 'The Notebook', 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' or 'Titanic', which leaves you lost but doesn't leave you with the feeling of lost," Kangana, who received a National Award for her lead role in "Queen" earlier this year, said.
