Anushka now has one major film on hand and that is Baahubali 2. Apart from that, she barely has any film on hand and that has led to some industry insiders feeling that she has become the ‘Vijayashanti’ of today’s generation.

Of late, she has been doing heroine-oriented roles and the industry is full of younger heroes. Also, since she has a rather large frame, not all heroes can be paired with her.

So, she is having trouble finding films these days. Unless some writer or director creates a special role for her, she will have a tough time feel some industry insiders.
However, unlike Vijayashanti, Anushka has the advantage of working in both Tamil and Telugu. Already, she is doing Size Zero, which is a bi-lingual that stars Tamil Arya. And he is not a small hero in Tamil.
The film has come up really well, at least from the way promos look and she looks really chubby and cheerful.
Also, unlike the time when Vijayashanti reached the fag end of her career, today the audiences are more tolerant to ageing heroines and the new-age film-makers too are experimenting with scripts.
While staying or quitting industry is Anushka’s personal choice, she might find roles suiting her age just like Vidya Balan, Kajol and Aishwarya Rai are managing in Bollywood.
In fact, Anushka was also seen in the Tamil version of Enthavaadu Gaani which had Tamil superstar Ajith in the lead and in Linga which had south Indian superstar Rajinikanth in the lead.
Since times have changed, she might do some more interesting films before she calls it a day.
