Director Shankar makes high budget entertainers with star heroes. Likewise, he is making his ongoing project Robo 2.0 starring superstar Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson most expensive film ever in Indian cinema. Budget of this highly anticipated picture is said to be around Rs 350 crores.Speculations are rife that, Lyca Productions, the production house that is making Robo 2.0 has insured the film for Rs 350 crores. The producers are said to be spending minimum of one crore on every day of shooting for props etc. It will cost bomb for them if any accident occurs on sets. So, they smartly insured the film for such big price.
Shooting of Robo 2.0 is at present happening in a huge set in Chennai. Akshay Kumar who is playing antagonist in the flick has also joined the shoot recently. Action sequences between Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar are said to be major highlights and the makers have roped in Hollywood stunt choreographers to supervise these action episodes.
Robo 2.0 is simultaneously being made in Tamil and Hindi. The film is likely to release along with Telugu and other dubbed versions in early 2017.
